LIST OF ISSUES
We need real education reform. It needs to come back to the local level. The parents and teachers need to have a say in how are children are educated. We have a real physiological problem today. I believe we need more physiology and sociology in our education. An emotionally strong child can learn faster and learn more. Not to mention learn how to deal with real life issues and especially personal issues. A child's formative years are age 4 to 9. This strongly determines the personality of that child for the rest of their lives. This is a crucial time that can contribute to the child's future. We need to build emotional power houses out of our children. This will build a baseline in their education and lives. Over time, it will become a real and positive contribution to society. Our education system is hundreds of years old and has, if anything, become suppressive and demoralizing to our children and teachers. Also, our teachers are overworked and underpaid. They are instrumental in our child's outcome. We need the best teachers possible and in order to get them, we need some major changes in our education system. I also believe we need a class that teaches laws and rights. Our children need to know the Constitution and Bill of Rights as it was written and what our country was founded on. This will only strengthen Freedom and Liberty.
I will do everything I can to get rid of property tax. We never truly own our property, we only lease it from the government. We should have the security of knowing we will always have a place to call home and that once it's paid for no one can take it. By doing this it will put those dollars back into the economy creating more jobs that will create more revenue to the state which will then compensate the loss of property tax. It will increase bigger industry to our state that will in turn create jobs. Increased industry always brings more small businesses as well. Also, it will lower rent costs that Oregon desperately needs right now.
I want to implement a program where prisoners have to work an 8-hour shift, 5 days a week. Whatever product that they produce will go towards paying for their incarceration cost. Once their sentence is complete, if they have not paid their debt in full, they will have 5% deducted from their paychecks until they have fully paid for the cost of their incarceration. This is just a start to this reform.
REGULATIONS AND LEGISLATIVE LAW
All of these will be cut as much as possible. Every year they impose hundreds more on us. These do not protect us as much as they hurt the people. They never prevent crime, they only encourage it by imposing more restrictions on law abiding citizens. I will not approve any brought to me by so called legislators either. I will bring the vote back to the people.
BUSINESS TAX REFORM
Business tax reform is crucial to our future. We need to cut employer tax. Right now an employer pays 33% on every dollar he pays the employee on top of his regular taxes to the government. We have to cut that so he can raise wages and benefits to the employee. This will put more money in our pockets and boost the economy in a way we have not seen in over 20 years. This will also bring more industry to our state. Let's get the American Dream going again!
Our forest is like a garden. What happens when you don't weed your garden? The weeds strangle out the vegetables you are trying to grow. God entrusted us with the forest. We have let special interest groups control our forests and they have failed miserably. We watch our forest burn to the ground along with our homes and livelihoods. We have to bring the timber industry back along with our grazing rights. By logging and grazing we keep the underbrush down and the grasses growing strong and healthy. It's like mowing your lawn. When you cut the grass, it grows faster and healthier with more proteins. The same thing happens when it's grazed properly. We get healthy grasses and trees which are instrumental in the ecosystem. Let's take our lands and forests back and make them beautiful again. In turn, it will create thousands of jobs at the same time for us, the people. Let's make Oregon stronger than ever.
